Kris Humphries may sue soon-to-be ex wife Kim Kardashian for $10 million, reports say.
The NBA player, who is unemployed thanks to the league’s lockout, is considering legal options to protect both his image and his bank account, Life & Style reports.
“Kris has a legal team investigating his options,” a source tells the magazine. “He’s claiming his role on ‘Kourtney & Kim Take New York‘ is bigger than he was told, and that’s why he wants more money. But Kris is also suing because he’s really worried about how badly he’s going to be portrayed on the series.”

Humphries’ wholesome image could be tarnished by the show. According to insiders, Humphries farts in Kourtney Kardashian’s face, stomps on Kim’s toe and uses the term “gay” in footage. “Viewers will be shocked by what a jerk Kris is,” a source alleges.
The news arrives on top of claims yesterday that Humphries called Kardashian “stupid,” “fat ass” and a “no talent” whose “fame wouldn’t last.”
Sources close to Humphries deny those accounts, and say that E!’s footage of him was largely scripted. William Humphries, the basketball player’s father says, “Little did Kris know that he was being set up.”
Humphries reportedly made $100,000 for filming “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and another $200,000 for “Kourtney & Kim Take New York.” He allegedly banked a small amount from the Aug. 20 wedding, but isn’t expected to get anything in his divorce settlement because of the couple’s iron-clad prenup. Humphries’ only other known source of income at the moment is representing Sector watches, a gig that was rumored to have netted Humphries $150,000.
Humphries has retained lawyer Lee Hutton III to handle his divorce proceedings and possibly his impending complaint against Kim. Legal sources tell Life & Style that Humphries may have grounds for a suit if he can prove that Kardashian signed their prenup intending to ditch him, which would be a fraudulent action. Experts also say Humphries could claim loss of earnings if his negative portrayal in the show leads to loss of work.
Humphries has stayed so far largely quiet about his split from Kardashian. The day Kardashian filed for divorce, he released a statement saying, “I’m committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents. I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce … I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.”
At a press conference for Sector watches Nov. 17 in New York, Humphries added, “As you all know, it’s been a difficult time in my life. [But] I’m really excited. [Sector and I] are a perfect fit.”
